01The Challenge

Manual analysis was labor-intensive, inconsistent, and could not scale

The client, a leading global media monitoring firm, specializes in analyzing political speeches, corporate announcements, and public addresses to provide actionable insights. With a vast repository of speech transcripts, they faced challenges in efficiently extracting meaningful information to inform strategic decisions. The existing process was labor-intensive, requiring analysts to manually sift through transcripts to identify key themes, sentiments, and entities. Human analysis led to subjective interpretations, resulting in inconsistent insights across different analysts and speeches. With an ever-growing volume of speeches, scaling the analysis without compromising quality was a significant hurdle that threatened their service delivery.

  • Labor-intensive manual sifting through transcripts for themes and entities
  • Subjective human interpretations causing inconsistent insights
  • Ever-growing speech volume making quality scaling impossible
02What We Built

Comprehensive speech analysis tool with NLP, visualization, and interactive Streamlit UI

We developed a comprehensive speech analysis tool leveraging advanced Natural Language Processing techniques across six key areas. Data Preprocessing cleans transcripts by removing timestamps, filler words, and irrelevant content, then normalizes text for consistent analysis. Topic Modeling using Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) identifies underlying themes within speeches, allowing users to grasp core messages quickly. Sentence-Level Sentiment Analysis assesses the sentiment of each sentence to determine overall tone. Named Entity Recognition extracts and highlights mentions of key figures, organizations, and locations to provide context. Interactive Visualizations include word clouds displaying prominent terms and charts presenting sentiment distributions and entity mentions for intuitive understanding. The Streamlit Application provides an interactive web interface enabling users to upload datasets, select specific speeches, and view analyses seamlessly.
