They provided an extensive dataset comprising lecture notes, presentations, books, blogs, YouTube videos, and other relevant resources. The dataset included various formats, making it challenging to design a universal ingestion pipeline that could handle all source types. Initial chunking strategies disrupted semantic coherence, leading to irrelevant chatbot responses that undermined user trust. Ensuring contextually relevant and accurate responses from the LLM was critical for the educational use case. Handling non-text sources like blogs and YouTube videos required robust processing capabilities beyond standard document ingestion.

We collaborated with the client to categorize and preprocess the entire dataset, storing content in ChromaDB for efficient retrieval. We implemented an optimized token-based chunking approach with 750-token chunks to preserve semantic integrity, resolving the early issues with irrelevant responses. An admin panel for knowledge management lets administrators manage content including automated ingestion of blogs and YouTube videos as new content is published. A feedback loop enables users to flag problematic responses, allowing admins to review and update answers, ensuring the chatbot evolves based on actual user interactions and continuously improves its accuracy.
